All about Owen

Owen's doctor called today and everything looked normal. I am so happy. Still not sure why he had the seizure. We will probably never know. Since he is so sick it could be from that. The MRI showed fluid in his ears and sinus, but we already knew that.

Owen did so well on Wed. for the test. He was a trooper. I really could not ask for a better little guy. We went to sleep for the EEG and woke up well after the MRI. He drink some Sprite and ate some cookies. Never got sick. He never really cried about food, except once when he saw me eating my breakfast. I tried to hide but I didn't do a very good job. Well anyways all is good.

This is for the EEG. They wrote on his head and then stuck these leads to his head, using this goo stuff.

Then they wrapped his head so he could not pull the leads out and so the leads would not fall off when he went to sleep.

This is Owen playing around before the MRI. His "ducky" outfit.

Owen fruits to his labor. He got this sucker from the pretty EEG lady. That Owen kept flirting with. He ate it all.

We had his birthday party last weekend. Thank you to everyone who came and for the wonderful clothes. He really needed them. I was just about to go buy him some new clothes. Thanks again for everyone who came and we missed those who could not attend. Here is some cake pictures again.

Listening to everyone sing. He wanted to touch the candle so bad.

Slowly getting the feel of the cake.

Getting the hang of the cake thing.

Enjoying the cake.

Well I better go. The kids are getting pictures done tomorrow. Talk to everyone later and thanks for the thoughts and prayers for Owen. The next post will have Mia in it I promise. I have not forgot about her. Mia is Mia and is always busy with something. I wonder where she gets that from.

Quick Update

Okay, so Owen has had a cough and snotty nose since Tuesday. Derek took him to the doctor yesterday. He has a upper respiratory infection and double ear-infection (with pus). He has not ever pulled on his ears. On the up side some seizures are cause by a sickness coming on. So hopefully that was what last Sundays was. Let just pray.He has to do breathing treatments and is on some strong antibiotics. Well I have to get back to getting things ready for his party.

Owen's test date

The doctor office called today. Owen has his MRI and EEG on Jan. 28. or next Wednesdays. The EEG is at 9:00 am and the MRI is at 12:30 pm. Owen has to go to bed 2 hours later on Tuesday night and get up 2 hours early on Wednesday morning. He can't fall asleep in the car. That is for the EEG. The MRI he can't have anything to eat or drink any milk. He can have any liquid that you can see though up until 9:30 am. He will has to be awake when we arrive and he will get to sleep during the EEG. After the EEG he will get put on IV sedation for the MRI. Derek is plan on taking him unless something with work comes up. I really don't want to see Owen like that. But I will if I have to. So keep him in your prayers for good things. I will let you know of the results as so as we know them.

Talk to you later.

Update on Owen

We took Owen to the Neurologist today to get some answers. And Guess.....

We didn't get much. We will know more after the EEG and MRI. Which are not schedule at this time, we are waiting for the office to call us to set up a date. If the EEG comes out normal then there is like a 80-90% chance he will never have one again. If it comes out abnormal there is a 89% chance that he will have more. That is all on if the MRI is normal. The fact he only had one and no other symptoms is a good sign. The doctor says he look great. He is developing wonderfully. He is pretty sure that he will be all fine but we wont' know anything until the test come back. With the MRI we can see if his brain is healthy or if something is "brewing". If anything is "brewing" we will hopefully catch early. I will let everyone know when the test are going to be and the results as we know them. The good new is that they don't have to stick him again until we do the test. After Sunday at the ER and doctors visit with 4 shots on Monday.

This is Owen having a good time at the ER. This is before they stuck him with IV and took blood.

Owen is sleeping off his anger at his dad. I left the room when the stuck him and Derek help hold him down. Well Owen really didn't even look at Derek for a at least 2 hours afterward. If Derek called his name he look at him and look away again.

He is Owen boo-boo. He didn't get fluids but the went ahead and put an IV in case he had too. This way he didn't have to get stuck again.

Owen also had a doctor's appointment on Monday for his 1 year check up. He has only gained 8 oz. in 3 months. He went from the 60% or 25%. Which I don't understand cause he eats everything. All except veggies. At least for now. He weights 21 lbs. and 10 oz. and is 29 inches. That is up from 27.5 inches. So most of you can figure this out but for those who can't. He is built just like Derek.

Mia had basketball practice last night and church tonight. She is really good at basketball. I really didn't think she would like it but she loves it. I think since she is playing boys is most of it. She likes to get the ball away for the boys.

Talk to everyone later. Thanks for all who called. It great talking since I have been going a little crazy. I am just trying to stay busy. I will update as things happen.

He is Owen enjoying a sucker after being sick and getting stuck at the doctors.

A Scary Event

At Mia's basketball game yeasterday Owen had a Seizure. It was the scaries thing that I have ever been though. I was very lucky my mom was there since Derek could not be due to school. He was acting perfectly fine and playing. His eyes looked all the way to his right and I thought it was just looking at something, but then they stared darting back and fourth. I picked him up and he went stiff as a board and put his head back. His eyes were still darting back and forth and it look as if he as not breathing. All I could do was scream call 911. My mom took him from me when I started freaking out right as he went stiff. The whole event lasted about 2 minutes. By the time the EMT's got there he was okay and just acting really tired. By the time they left he was acting normal. We took him to St. John's to have him looked at. Mia went to my grandma's and Mia's coach drove Owen and I to the hospital, while Derek met us there. We don't know why he had it. We are taking him to the Neurologist on Wed. He will then have to have a EEG and MRI. He has to be asleep for that though. So keep him in you prayers that this was a one time thing. Thanks. I will post more as I know more.

Texas, Owen is 1, and Basketball

Well its a new year. It started off really crappy for us at least. Here the kids are in the car at like 4:00 am when we were leaving for Texas. No pictures of me cause I didn't look much better. We did celebrate a happy thing while in Texas. Owen turned one. I can't beleive it. Parents as teachers say is at a 15 month in his verabal skills. I was a little concered that he does not clap but he already stacks block and she said that like a 14 month development skill. So he is ahead of the game in some areas. He is still not walking but he is getting close. We did let him get a cake while we were in Texas. At first he didn't relize what he was suppose to do with it. Which surprises me since he puts everything in his mouth. But he figured it out and went crazy. Mia had her first basketball game while we were in Texas but she played in Friday nights game and did great. I could not go since I was getting over a stomach bug. No fun at all. Here is a video of her going down the court.

Talk to everyone later.
