Fall

I know I am such a slacker lately with the blog but we have been so busy. I it slowing down a little but not much with the holidays coming up. Mia is in the Christmas musical at Church and we have rehearsal once during the week and on the weekends. I feel like most weeks I am trying to recover from the weekend.

Derek and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary this month. We went to 54th Street Grill in Chesterfield. Best burger I have had in a long time. Then we went and did most of our Christmas shopping. It was nice to spend a little time together since he is so busy with work and school. And I have the kids and all the stuff Mia is into.

I let the kids help clean out the pumpkins for Halloween, Mia was such a girl and didn't want to get her hands dirty.

Derek gave Owen his first real haircut. He buzzed it off since we are always in the need of a haircut.

On Halloween we went to Jim and Chrissy's to trick or treat. It was a lot of fun. Mia didn't get a ton of candy but that is fine. Less for me to eat:) But she had a lot of fun with Alli.

Mia and Daddy roasting some smores.

Mia has lost her front two teeth. She is now walking around the house singing "All I want for Christmas is my Two Front teeth". Soccer is finally over for her.

Owen had been pushing a laundry basket around the house. He likes to put blankets and pillows in it to make a bed. The first time he did this he got so upset because he could not figure how make the blanket go on the bottom and then still go over him. He was very happy when I helped out. He just sits and watches TV.

Talk to everyone later.

SO BUSY!!!

Sorry it has been forever since I posted but we are so busy latly. I am with kids all day and sometimes I guess I could have posted but just didn't. The weekends there is just no time. I spend Monday recovering from my weekend. It will just get busier with the holidays right around he corner.

Last weekend we went to Derek's grandmother's place for a fall party. The kids had a great time. The did the pony rides 3 times and Owen went all by himself after the first one.

Then went to dinner with Derek's parents. We also were back down at their house all day Sunday.

Last night I went to Mia's first parent-teacher conference. She is doing really well. She is suppose to be at a level C in reading at the end of the year and she is already there. She is also doing really well in the math. I am so proud.

We are busy again this weekend but nothing new there. Talk to you later.

Past Weekend

So last weekend was a big weekend in the Goewert house. We were all set to have Mia's 6th birthday party, we decide we wanted Owen baptized. I have been going to a church on and off for a little while and really felt at home. After talking about it we decide it was time. So we had a double party. We invited everyone to church to see Owen and then we had everyone back to our house to celebrate the big deals in the Goewert's life. Every was great. I made the cakes for party.

So this was my first experience with make a cute cake. I will get another shot this weekend when I do a Finding Nemo cake.

Owen didn't like getting wet when he was baptized and cried. I was super proud of Mia standing up there with us as a family to say she would help raise him in a Godly way.

This is the same suit my brother wore for his baptism 18 years ago.

He was so mad. It was a great look.

The family lighting the candle together. Mia didn't miss a beat, but then again she never does.

Mia also fell asleep on me after she was bapitized so now I have a picture of both of them like this.

So afterwards we had everyone over here for food. We got some wonderful gifts for Mia and Owen. We are truly lucky to have such a wonderful family and friends. Thanks for the wonderful gifts. It was really like Christmas, at least for Mia.

Derek got this picture and it is truly "priceless"

Thanks again for everything and hope to see you soon.

This is Owen new trick. Climbing on the table not using a stool and with Derek out of town I wanted him to see it.

We miss you Derek and Can't wait for you to get home. Sorry it is sideways, I will try to re-take it late and repost. We love you.

Last couple of weeks!

So as always we have been busy. Mia started school last week. It was really hard on me. It almost makes me want another one. I didn't take her. I wanted to but I knew I would cry and it would upset her. So Derek took her. She has the same teacher as Summer School. So she walked in there like she owned the place. Her little boyfriend is in her class. So she is loving it. I hope she feels that way in a week.

Owen is now on meds for his seizures. He has had a totally of 3 of them. It is scary. After the second one the doctor decides a repeat sleep deprived EEG was needed. Then he had the 3rd and we moved the EEG up. Nothing was seen on the EEG which is good. But him have 3 the doctor decided to put him on meds. We didn't want to but we were worried that he would climb on a table or something and have a seizure.

Other then that not to much going on. We start soccer in a few days. Mia can't wait. Talk to you later.

BUSY!!!

Well life has been super busy around here and is only going to get worse over the next couple of weeks.

Last Sunday Owen had another seiure. It last about half the time as the first one and he come out of the post-stage pretty quick. It was up and talking in 3 minutes. It was odd. We did not go to the ER per Doctors orders. I called the office on Monday and the Doctor wants to do a repeat sleep deprived EEG. The doctor did say that he could have more even though his test were all normal. So maybe will know some aswers the week of the 23rd. Anyways, the EEG is on August 17th at 7:15 am. Derek is taking him.

On to happiers things. We took on to the doctor for his 18th months check up. He is 31 inches (13%) and 24 lbs. 2 oz. (24%). So thanks to the short Goewert men (all except Brent) Owen is on his way to become on too.

On July 11th we took the kids to the zoo for a family day. It was really nice. We got there early and left before lunch. We go and see the same things over and over but he kids love it. Everything was a hippo to Owen he loves the hippos.

Owen with his hippos.

I have this same pictrue with Mia.
Mia is done with Summer school and start Kingergarden on August 13th. She will have the same teacher as she did in summer school. She is so excited. I can't belive she will be 6 in a month in a half. We will be celebrating her birthday party on Sept. 20th (its a Sunday). We are doing it later this year so maybe it won't be so hot. Let see how that works out for us. It will probly rain. That is my luck.

For those who don't know my dad is back in Iraq for his 3rd and hopfully finally tour. Please keep him your thoughs and prayers.

I will let you know how the EEG turn out. Talk to everyone later.

SLACKER!! Yes I am.

I know I have been a slacker lately. But really we had so much going on and not really anything to report. But now it is different.

Mia lost her first tooth on Tuesday. I can't believe it. She seems so grown up. She has 4 days of summer school left and then she is out. But she starts back up on August 13th. I know I am going to cry. The one next to it is also getting lose. I am hoping at Christmas she will be missing her 2 front teeth. But I have a feeling it is going to happen before that.

Owen is getting so big. He was 18 months old on July 4th. He is using he words more. He can repeat almost everything you say. It is so cute. He is all boy climbing all over everything. He never sits still.

The 4th of July weekend was fun. On Friday we went to the pool the water was cold but the kids loved it. Owen is just like Mia and is a little water bug. The deeper the better. I put him in the float without any wings and loved floating around.

We were heading for a snack when took off to get back in the pool. I got him to stop and he look so cute in is little outfit.

Owen floating around. He keep getting mad that he could only walk so far.

Mia floating around. I thought the water was freezing but the kids loved it.
We went to an 80's theme party for Derek's boss last month. These we our costumes and will be for Halloween too.

Owen has his 18th month check-up on July 20th and I will post his stats then. But I can tell you he is short and thin. Not sure how since all he does is eat. I guess with all the running around.

Owen can Climb!!

This is Owen new trick. I was so what excited. Until he did this.....

This is how I found him sitting on the table watching TV. He figure out to move his step stool to the couch and table to get up on them.

Now he is starting to dance on the table. I am in so much trouble. On the up-side I have some new table decor. He is also starting to talk a little more. He is a true boy. He loves throwing balls. He can even throw with his left hand. Derek is so excited.

Mia has been busy. We have had 2 games this week already and another one on Friday. she played in the rain on Tuesday. The kids thought it was so cool, even Owen. He loves to go to her games. He plays in the dirt. There is a dirt ring around my drain after the baths everytime. She is also starting summer school on Monday. She is so excited. We have Open House tonight to meet the teacher. Talk to everyone later.

Back from Jamaica!!!

So we got back late Friday night. It was so much fun. We did have some rain. We got there late Monday night. Then on Tuesday we spent the day at the pool and beach. Wednesday we went to Dunn's River Falls and snorkeling. Then sat in the pool in the rain. Thursday it rained so much. Which was really bad since that was the wedding day. But Toni took it great. She got married and looked beautiful. We then sat around gambling. Not a big surprise there. Friday the sun was shinning and it was beautiful. We had to check out at noon but the bus didn't leave for the airport until 3pm. So we sat around the pool in the morning and enjoyed the view for a couple of hours. I really can't wait to go back. I hope it is in about 2 years. Here is a couple of pictures.

I love this picture

Long time no blog....

Okay, I know you really want a blog all about the kids so I will do my best to please you all.

Lets start with Owen. I took Owen to an Allergist on March 17 to see if was allergic to cats. His asthma was getting worse and we were doing a lot of extra meds on him. It come back positive to cats and dogs. So no pets for us, unless he out grows it which he could. We asked around and one of the kids I watch knew someone looking for a cat. So Snowball went to her. I am so grateful that he did. Owen is getting better. We still have to do breathing treatments once a day but it last like 5 min. so it is not too bad. He takes them pretty good. He ears are doing great. No current infections and he is now running. So I guess he got his balance back. Great.

Mia is getting ready to start Tee ball. We have our first practice tonight. We also register her for school last week. We also signed her up for summer school. I am a mean mommy. It will be good for her to get use to going and it is only half day. We also had her tested to see if she is ready for kindergarten. She scored a 90 out of a possible 99. She would have done a little better if she was not so worried about the other little girl in the room.

Hope everyone had a great Easter. We were so busy. We dyed eggs on Saturday. I let Owen dye on himself. He dropped it in and then stirred it. He kept licking the spoon. After it was done he held up the egg for a picture and then smashed it in the table. Mia had a great time dying eggs she loves it so much. On Sunday we had a egg hunt. Mia does not get the traditional egg hunt. She has clues to follow to her basket. She loves doing this.

Showing off his egg before smashing it into the table.

After breakfast we got ready and went to Derek's parents for lunch.

Kristina's daughter, Adriana is so cute. (Kristen is Brent's girlfriend. Brent is Derek's brother for those who didn't know) She and Owen get along really well. She kept trying to kiss and hug on Owen. He was not into it that day. But we did catch them holding hands.

We then went to Delmar Garden's to visit Derek's grandparents. It was Grandpa's birthday. We went to visit. We had a pretty good turn out.

Owen and Kristen

All the grand kids, who were present.

Afterwards we went back to Derek's parents to watch the Masters and eat dinner. We got home pretty late and I was beat.

Mia and Owen

Owen love a little girl I watch named Cooper. He is always hugging and kissing her. Derek says Owen is too young to understand irony. But it is a great example. Today Cooper was all about giving out kisses. So Owen went and got one. I snapped a picture.

Derek got back safe and sound from Austria. He brought back some wonderful chocolate and a loud, German speaking police car. His plane was late so I spent an hour and half at the airport with two tired kids. It was so much fun.

Owen has his 15 month check up on the 20th and Mia is doing the March of Dimes walk on the 25th so I should have some pictures up after that. It will be a couple of days since I have a bachelorette party on the 25th as well. Can't wait Toni. Hope you enjoyed all the pictures.
